Centro Studi Poltronova presents
‘Saratoga 60’ featuring Harry Nuriev (Crosby Studios)

SARATOGA by Elena and Massimo Vignelli

This year, Poltronova celebrates the 60th anniversary of Saratoga, the line of seats designed by Elena and Massimo Vignelli. It’s a special occasion to announce the collaboration with one of the most disruptive names in the contemporary design industry. We’re talking about Harry Nuriev, the creative mind and founder of Crosby Studio, who is reshaping the fashion and design scene with collaborations with brands like Balenciaga and Dover Street Market. The partnership with Poltronova sees the Russian artist infusing new “contaminations” into the SARATOGA sofas and armchairs that will furnish the talk area of Spazio Maiocchi during the design week within the ‘Capsule Plaza’ happening. In their geometric simplicity, inspired by the timeless shape of a piano and the interiors of a Jaguar, the Saratoga armchair and sofas will propose the theme of wear, thanks to the customized vinyl packaging-effect upholstery handcrafted by Nuriev.

After the success of the previous edition, Capsule Plaza, a project signed by Capsule magazine by Kaleidoskope and curated by founder and creative director Alessio Ascari together with architect Paul Cournet, returns to Fuorisalone 2024 with ‘Radical Sensations’ and confirms its presence at Spazio Maiocchi, a suggestive former industrial cathedral in the Porta Venezia Design District. The aim of Capsule Plaza is to once again bring together, in a hybrid between a fair and a collective exhibition, designers and companies from different creative sectors, creating a bridge between industry and culture. A novelty of this edition is a satellite location in the spaces of 10 Corso Como.

The opening of the ‘Saratoga 60’ exhibition and the sealing of the agreement between Poltronova and Nuriev will be accompanied by the launch of a new issue of Capsule Magazine with a cover and an article dedicated to Saratoga and its designers.

The Vignelli collection will also mark 2025 with a traveling exhibition that will take their timeless design around the world.
